From the moment we walked in, the quirky charm of the decor immediately drew us in - there was so much to look at and we could both tell everything had a story. The train set on the ceiling, the sleds, the Sesame Street characters, just so charming. And then… the whiskey collection. I have never seen so many different whiskeys in my life and if that wasn’t impressive enough, the meister himself attended our every whiskey need throughout the evening. He was unbelievably knowledgeable and lit up like a kid on Christmas at the opportunity to be able to share what he was so passionate about - a genuinely refreshing experience in a world of mass produced fast products and experiences. As if that wasn’t enough, a box of ‚happy birthday‘ chocolates was presented as a birthday gift - a gesture that really made my night - and an indication that kind gestures are not dead in the gastronomy environment in Berlin. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and the ability to slow down and enjoy the experience was such a nice change to the usual hum of some Berlin bars. In addition, the service was immaculate. The lady behind the bar was cheerful, positive, accommodating and attentive with a perfect balance of making us feel comfortable but not over-served (a difficult balance). The food was brilliantly functional and soaked up the whiskey nicely (it was honestly nice to only really have 1 choice to make menu-wise). 10/10 bringing as many people as I know here for a dram and the largest portion of cheese and olives I’ve ever seen.
